Ag Matters Radio Broadcast Features MacFarlane Pheasants
It was a great experience for MacFarlane’s General Manager, Sarah Pope, and owner Bill MacFarlane to take part in a WCLO podcast with Jim Raymond on April 13, 2019. Jim is a member of the Ag Business Council. He discusses all things agriculture in his weekly radio broadcast. We hope you will go online and listen to the entire podcast. Here are some of the details you can look forward to hearing about MacFarlane Pheasants.
Sarah Pope, the General Manager at MacFarlane Pheasants has worked at MacFarlane Pheasants for nine years. She is from Clinton, WI and little did she know, that after graduating with a political science degree, from La Crosse, WI she would work so close to home on our pheasant farm!
Bill MacFarlane certainly didn’t plan on returning to MacFarlane Pheasants after getting a degree in economics from the University of Houston. He had worked hard on the farm as a child and thought he wanted to move in a different direction. But when his dad’s health began to decline in 1979, the year Bill graduated, he made the decision to return to the farm to help, and never looked back. MacFarlane Pheasants has been his focus for 40 years!
Some of the other exciting facts you will learn about by listening to the podcast:
• Hear the story of the Manchurian Pheasant eggs brought to the farm in 1989 and how we continue to be the only farm in the United States that maintains a pure strain of these birds.
Many thanks to WCLO and Jim Raymond for the interview. We hope you will enjoy listening to the podcast as much as we enjoyed talking with Jim.
