Sarah Pope Named NAGA Member of the Year at 2025 Convention

Published On: February 14, 2025Categories: NAGA, Our Team

We are thrilled to announce that Sarah Pope, Vice President of Operations at MacFarlane Pheasants, has been honored with the NAGA Member of the Year Award at the 2025 North American Gamebird Association (NAGA) Convention! The event was held from February 3-5, 2025, at the Aquarius Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nevada, and concluded with this exciting recognition.

The award was presented by Mike Martz of Martz’s Gap View Hunting Preserve, who praised Sarah for her outstanding contributions to the game bird industry. As the First Vice President of NAGA and an active member of the membership committee, Sarah’s dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on the association and the broader game bird community.

“There is no question that we have a male-dominated industry. I have a daughter that plans to take over our business, and if she ends up contributing to the game bird industry like Sarah Pope, I will be extremely proud,” said Mike Martz, NAGA President.

Sarah’s journey with MacFarlane Pheasants began in January 2010, and over the years, she has held numerous key positions, including Chick Sales Coordinator, Dressed Sales Coordinator, Mature Sales Assistant, Office Manager, General Manager, and Director of Operations. Her dedication and passion for the industry ultimately led her to her current role as Vice President of Operations.

Beyond her work at MacFarlane, Sarah serves on the boards of both the North American Gamebird Association and the Wisconsin Gamebird Preserve Association. Her leadership and advocacy have made her a role model, especially for women in the pheasant and game bird industry.

We are incredibly proud of Sarah for this well-deserved recognition. Her commitment to excellence and her passion for the game bird industry continue to inspire all of us at MacFarlane Pheasants. Congratulations, Sarah!
