Hatchery History
What looks to be a hut in the field is actually our first Incubator- Hatcher Combination. Eggs were hatched by broody chickens, very high tech.

Our first hatchery was built in the late 30’s and then a larger one, seen in the picture here was built in the 60’s.

In 1988 we added on to our old hatchery, updated our machines. These machines can hold up to 26,000 eggs each.

Remembering Donald MacFarlane
Donald’s life was defined by perseverance, kindness, and an enduring commitment to family and community. As Kenneth, Donald’s oldest son, reflected, “He was such a positive person. I feel very fortunate that he was our dad.”
Today, MacFarlane Pheasants stands as a living tribute to Donald’s vision and values, inspiring future generations to carry forward his remarkable legacy.
